The representatives dog's bark was louder than her voice. When I said you talking yo low she raised her voice in a nasty way.

The hung up! I waited for the call back because me name address & number had been confirmed by her. Nope no callback, after I'd waited 14 minutes for someone to answer. I called back this time I listened to the music before anyone answered for 11 minutes.

She called up the incomplete order for thermopile for my AO Smith gas water heater. Same issue. I questioned the long 5 to 6 days for delivery. She hung up and I haven't or never got tracking number or case number or call back!

This company's Customer Service Reps are a Joke ONLY I'M NOT DAMN LAUGHING!!!

I'M WITHOUT HOT WATER & BOUGHT A $1000 WATER HEATER LESS THAN 5 YEARS AGO!! Pitiful Pathetic if they can't hire better representatives to represent this company!

Ao Smith Water heater installed in 2019 stopped working, tough to get pilot to light and when I did, the burner would not fire up when I turned the temperature on. Called customer service and there was a long hold time so I requested a callback.

About 30 minutes later a lovely lady named Denise called me back, told her what happened and she took me through a brief trouble shoot. She said she would send me a new gas valve and thermal coupler via next day air. This was at noon on Weds. At 10am Thursday the parts arrived at my door, free of charge thanks to warranty coverage.

I changed them out and the tank fired right up.

Im sure others have had bad experiences but I had to write this review bc mine was pretty flawless and I hope Denise gets recognized. This is a real review from a professional landlord

Purchased inline hot water heater, it acted up, called tech support, told it was the motherboard had to purchase a new one. Installed the new one, same exact problem.

They did give me money back for the 1st on since I didn't need one. Now the new one they refuse to honor the warranty saying it's an extension of the 1st one. Just because you buy a new one doesn't give you a new warranty. So I'm out almost a grand now and no hot water and no help.

Do not buy any of their products and the tech support people are complete idiots! They couldn't even get an electrician to come out to do what they wanted jumping a sensor, but that is my fault because they don't want to loose their license jumping a sensor. Now they say all of a sudden my water is too pure. Wth???

My water is city toxic waste, not pure at all. Before it was low water pressure, yet I'm holding a consistent 66 pounds of static pressur per Riveria Utilities. They don't know how to service the equipment they are providing tech support for. A big circus full of mentally challenged idiots.

After just now talking with a supposed manager, I have only 1 choice left and that is retain legal representation.

This company has cost me so much money over bs reasons for this thing to be messing up not to mention the strain on my light bill since it constantly clicks and throws codes. Actually I don't believe they even know what's wrong with it.

I called the technical assistance number listed in the manual. I asked to get a part NUMBER for the anode rod on a water heater.

They required I provide them with name, address, phone number, location in the house of the water heater, serial number, model number, and who installed it. This amount of information is ABSURD to get a part number for a non warranty part. Anode rod can be bought at a local hardware store. After multiple conversations, I was told it was due to gas regulations.

Not true. I called a supply distributor and ordered the part before even being asked my name. Ao smith kept referring me by a name I stopped using (get this) 33 YEARS ago.

When asked where they got the name, they refused. No need to wonder how my identity was hacked.

Be advised before you purchase an A.O. Smith hot water heater!

Our $1000, A. O. Smith GCRL 40 400 residential hot water heater failed just 14 months outside of the 6 year warranty period. The leaking heater tank trickled 120 gallons of water to our basement floor before it was discovered.

Speaking with a ground level customer service, and a manager, each stated A. O. Smith would offer no relief in the matter repeatedly stating "we abide by our warranty period", and, "there's nothing we can do". A.

O. Smith is not the premium, reliable durable goods / appliance manufacturer to spend your money on in our experience, because their product failed far prior to a reasonable life expectancy, and they offered zero empathy, consideration, or flexibility toward offering any type of relief or support in our case.

The AO Smith electric water heater was installed 1/18/23. 5/30/23, no hot water.

The water temp had been slowly dropping and then, gone. AO gave a # for Labor cost and name of plumber, long/short I had to pay plumber, as AO Smith doesn't pay per plumber REFERRED BY AO SMITH. Also plumber had never worked on AO Smith, knew nothing about it. 6/1/23 plumber checked install, found nothing, toggled?

T/P switch hot water worked again. That switch is not a troubleshooting instruction by the way. Last week when started losing temp again, 6/29/23 no hot water. I have been on the phone with seller, plumber and AO.

Please understand that with this company You OWN any problems. No one at AO Smith or seller will help you other than answering phone, eventually. Lesson learned: Don't buy from retail giants, buy from a plumbing company. I will now wait for Lowe's to follow up on my request to pick up the water heater for refund.

We'll see... BTW we have owned hot water heaters for 20+ years without issues, this is not our first.

I also sent AO a formal registered letter with all details possible asking for a response by 6/30/23. Nothing yet!
